SUBJUNCTIVE
Subjunctive digunkan untuk menyatakan harapan atau keinginan yang tidak terpenuhi atau keadaan yang tidak sesuai dengan kenyataan. (bertentangan dengan fakta)
1. Subjuntive dengan "WISH"
a. Present situation
Apabila faktanya dalam bentuk simple present tense maka subjuntive nya dalam bentuk simple past tense, dengan menggunakan pola " S + WISH + S + V2 + O +...."
Contoh
- Fact : I am poor
Subj : I wish I were rich
- Fact : Ani is stupid
Subj : Her parents wish she were clever
- Fact : They go to school on foot every day
Subj : They wish they went to school by car everyday
- Fact : She doesn't love me
- Subj : I wish she loved me
B. Past Situation
Apabila faktanya dalam bentuk simple past tense maka subjunctivenya menggunakan past perfect tense dengan mengitkuti pola " S +WISH+ S + HAD+V3+ O+....
Contoh
- Fact : My father went to makassar last night
Subj : I wish my father had not gone to Makassar last night
- Fact : She married with my friend two days ago.
Subj : I wish she had married with my brother
- Fact : We didn't pass the exam
Subj. : We wish had passed the exam
